If you look over here, you will see the Burnt Bridge Creek. It has three nuxalk names. Number 1 is nutl’ lh iixw, number 2 is xayq’ts, and number three is more to the shore, it is kaahylskt. The important thing about this river area is that there was a village up there where they could open their doors and see the river outside of their door. Nutl’ lh iixw means fast-moving water head and xayq’ts means barnacle beach. Kaahylskt is referring to the trail.
